TSB HUB INTRODUCTION
With construction work finished in 2010 at a cost of more than $20.7 million, TSB Hub is a very popular multi-function sports center located in Hawera, New Zealand. It combines sports, recreation, leisure and events in both indoor and outdoor facilities to deliver excellent service for a wide portfolio of users. The sporting clubs that use TSB Hub facilities include Naumai Netball Club, Hawera Basketball Association, Hawera Badminton Club, Hawera High School, Taranaki Rugby League, Okaiawa Tennis Club, just to speak a few.
THE LIGHTING SOLUTION
The previous COB LED high bay light fittings-which's offered in 200W with 16000lm package, have degraded drastically in the past two years in a TSB Hub basketball court with overall brightness reduced by 30% and 8.5% of total light fixtures failing to work. It turns out that players sometimes can't stay focused and even find themselves visually distracted in such lighting environment due to reflected glare and dimly lit space.
In order to provide a clear and well-lit physical space that can ensure optimum performance of players on this basketball court and in the meantime lead to a positive experience of spectators, the facility manager decided to upgrade all of previous COB LED high bay lights in spite of tremendous costs that new light fixtures and operation will entail.
As is often the case, Kinglumi was proud to participate in this indoor arena lighting project and cooperated with one of our customer in New Zealand to offer a total of 141 pieces of 155W Annulight™ LED industrial light fixtures in TSB Hub basketball court. it's important to note that we used about 30% less light fixtures this time but the basketball court shines much brighter than it was before. "This happens because Kinglumi Annulight™ LED high bay lights feature an outstanding high efficacy of up to 138W/lm" , said our customer, adding that the facility manager and athletes are very happy because new light fixtures provide extremely bright, uniform and glare-free lighting over the entire basketball court.
